American Housing Builders was established in 1991 with a philosophy of quality and integrity.  American Housing Builders, Inc. remains one of the most respected new home builders on Florida’s west coast.  Mick McKenzie, past owner and President, comes from a long line of successful home builders.  His grandfather, Walter McKenzie, was a home builder in Pinellas County and his father, T.K. McKenzie, built homes in Pinellas and Manatee Counties for over 40 years.  T.K. was a pioneer in the building industry.  He instilled the values of quality workmanship and integrity in his team, his homes and everything he pursued.

Mick’s daughter, Valerie, was also raised in the building industry and she strives for similar ideals as her father and grandfathers.  She recently took over at American Housing Builders and looks forward to bringing the company into a new era of home designs and energy-efficiency.  Valerie vows to maintain the high-quality workmanship and integrity in all of our projects and strictly adhere to Florida’s stringent building code while following the latest trends.  Our team is here to make your American Dream come true!

 

Valerie was raised in the home building industry. Both of her grandfathers were builders, as well as her father, Mick McKenzie, who's motto has always been to “strive to build homes as if we were going to live in them ourselves and to treat customers as if they were family.”  Her entire family has been building homes right here in the Tampa Bay area since the early 1900's.
