Building “Green”
Today people are becoming more and more aware of the environment. So as new homebuilders, we are thinking more and more “Green” when designing and building our new homes.
American Housing takes environmental issues very seriously and we try to insure energy conservation throughout the design and building of our new homes. Because we are aware of the environmental concerns of today, we have gone through a nationally recognized “Green” educational program and have received the Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
We are already using low flowing fixtures and low irrigation systems to help with water conservation. The high efficiency Lennox heat pump that we use in our homes are all Energy Star rated heat pumps. The dishwashers and ceiling fans used are also Energy Star products. Low-E windows are now another feature in our new homes, along with R-30 ceiling insulation. We seal all penetrations in exterior walls and the top plate of all framed walls to keep our homes more efficient.
We are always striving to improve the indoor air quality of our homes through the design and careful selection of the materials used. We try and use eco-friendly materials in our homes whenever possible. American Housing Builders, Inc. has a good reputation for building quality homes that are safe and durable. Our homes are designed to fit in with surrounding areas and are truly built with the environment in mind.
We are continually educating ourselves to help improve our awareness of the environment and are striving for ways to improve on methods and practices in building a better home. Like you, we know how important environmental issues are because, after all, we live here too!
Some of the “Green” products included in our homes are:
- Low-E Insulated Windows
- “Energy Star” Heat Pump and Thermostat
- “Energy Star” Ceiling Fans
- “Energy Star” Dishwasher
- Scott Paints Low VOC Interior Paints
- Low Consumption Toilets
- Water Efficient Showerheads
- Water Efficient Bathroom & Kitchen Faucets
